Question Explanation
Care options for People with Dementia
Dementia is one of the major health issues of global concern due to the adverse effects it imparts on the quality of life, physical, emotional, mental and social health of patients and their caregivers (Broda, et al, 2017). Dementia is a collection of various medical conditions affecting the brain, leading to a decline in functioning of various cognitive domains. These include a decline in memory, thinking, concentration, comprehension, ability to learn, language acquisition and making judgment (Broda, et al, 2017). These effects undermine the ability of patients to undertake normal and routine tasks. Due to the adverse effects of dementia diagnosis, devising an appropriate care to address the unique needs of the patients is important.
