The five patterns of knowing as described by Chinn and Kramer(2013) include aesthetic knowing, personal knowing, ethical knowing empirical and emancipatory knowing. In the Wit Film, empirical knowing is demonstrated when the Dr. Harvey Kelekian is explaining to Dr. Vivian Bearing that she has stage four metastatic ovarian cancer.
