Child abuse can be any form of maltreatment directed at a child. The World Health Organization’s definition of child abuse regards it as any child maltreatment that is either sexual abuse, emotional abuse, neglect, exploitation that leads to physical harm, negatively affects the child’s development, or leads to harm to their dignity (World Health Organization[WHO], 2020).
